Music Cognition Specialist

I’m a devoted husband, father of four and a Grammy-award winning drummer and percussionist. Nothing is more important to me than my children’s health and happiness and I know I’m not alone. Many children struggle emotionally and behaviorally and sometimes as a parent you just don’t know what to do to help them.

I know this because over the last four years I’ve been working in the mental health field at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital with children struggling with emotional, mental, and behavioral issues. This is where my love of children and music come together to bring you drumINsync.

As a graduate of the famed Berklee College of music, my career took me to the heights of country and pop music. I’ve toured the world and recorded with superstar artist and TV's, "The Voice" star, Blake Shelton, as well as many other multi-platinum artists including, India Arie, Lady Antebellum, Chicago, and Mindy McCready. After years of touring, recording and producing, I looked to combine my musical life with my passion for children’s health issues. 

My interaction with these children in an inpatient setting, using music groups and therapeutic drumming, led me to develop this unique, drumINsync program.
